Project Approval Committee

To substantiate the objectives of the Biotechnology policy the Government of Madhya Pradesh, Department of Biodiversity and Biotechnology has constituted a Project Approval Committee (PAC), comprising of illustrious Scientists and Biotechnologists with CEO, MPBTC as its Chairman. The PAC evaluates the projects received in the Council from various Scientists/Academicians working in different Institution / University in a prescribed Project Format on the following grounds:

Element of Biotechnology in the proposed project.
Deliverables for the State.
Financial outlay.
Infrastructure for carrying out the project.

Once the project is approved by the PAC, they are then sent to the Board of Directors/ Chairman of the BoD for final sanction. On sanction from BoD or Chairman of BoD the Council funds the projects. Once the Project is funded the Principle Investigator along with Registrar/ Director of the Institution is required to sign an MoU with the M.P. Biotechnology Council for effective implementation of the project. The PAC meets at least twice a year to monitor the progress of the project and renders necessary suggestions for carrying out the project.
