Projects Undertaken in MP Biotechnology Council

The Council has sanctioned projects in multifarious areas of Biotechnology emphasizing on certain key points such as:

  • Conservation of Germplasm and Microbial Biodiversity preservation.
  • Production of cost effective drugs to counter various disease.
  • Establishment of advanced Molecular Characterization facilities for Medicinal plants.
  • Conservation Medicinally important plants through Tissue culture techniques.
  • Bee keeping as bio-resource for livelihood generation of rural population.

During the period 2007-2010, 11 projects were undertaken by the Council of which 5 projects have been completed in 2010 and 5 projects are still in operation. The details of the projects undertaken are elucidated below:
