The M.P. Biotechnology Council has a vision to produce high quality trained manpower in Biotechnology and for its attainment the Council has envisaged short term Hands on Training module for Post Graduate students (M.Sc/M.Tech. Biotechnology) with following objectives:

  • Illustrate theoretical principles by practical application.
  • Acquaint students to latest research, instrumentation and techniques in diverse areas of Biotechnology.
  • Ignite research tendency through interaction with eminent Scientists and Experts.
  • Develop job oriented skills and enlighten them about various career options.

 

 

Training committee:

For the culmination of objectives the council has constituted a Training committee embodying distinguished Scientists, Academicians and Biotechnologists. The committee meets twice a year for consideration of the training modules submitted by various Collaborating Institutes. The committee scrutinizes the training modules and tailors it to the need of the students.

These Institutes provide training in advanced areas of Biotechnology in accordance with the curriculum. This leads to enhancement of the student’s knowledge via “learning by handling”. Hence the training modules of these Institutes are so designed and approved by Training Committee to fulfill our objectives and make them an ingenious resource.

Training Schedule:

The council sponsors the training for tenure of 15 working days (exclusive of Sundays & Holidays) for PG students of Govt. Colleges/Institutes/University with minimum 55%. However, a nominal registration fee is taken from each student. After the completion of the training program, each student is given a Certificate of training from the concerned Institute.

 

The Way Forward:

  • Following the past tradition, the Council intends to sponsor similar training programs during the current year (2011-2012). The council is also in discussion with Devi Ahilya University, Indore and Jiwaji University, Gwalior for conducting 2 more hands on trainings on “Enzymes and Enzyme Technology and Immuno- Biotechnology“ respectively in addition to the existing modules.
  • The Council tends to conduct specially designed training program for Lecturers and Professors teaching Biotechnology to equip them with latest practical skills and techniques thereby rediscovering their self-potential and confidence. The orientation program will contribute towards the teacher’s awareness in Biotechnology education thereby elevating the teaching standards in the state. It will be a forum to abreast academicians of the latest advances in the subjects, technological spin off etc. The training will be organized in leading Research Institutes and Universities across M.P. The Council is also in discussion with Delhi University, and National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal for specialized teachers training. The tentative tenure will be 15 working days (exclusive of Sundays & Holidays). A batch will comprise of 15-20 teachers who will be selected from various Govt. Institutes in M.P.
